Genesis Invitational 2025 picks, odds, field: Surprising predictions by model that’s nailed 13 majors
This same model has also nailed a whopping 13 majors entering the weekend, including the 2024 Masters — its third Masters in a row — and last year’s PGA Championship and U.S. Open. Anyone who has followed its sports betting picks could have seen massive returns on betting apps like FanDuel, DraftKings and Fanatics.
SportsLine’s proprietary model, built by DFS pro Mike McClure, has been red-hot since the PGA Tour resumed in June 2020. In fact, the model is up nearly $9,500 on its best bets since the restart, nailing tournament after tournament.
Genesis Invitational 2025 predictions
One major surprise the model is calling for at the 2025 Genesis Invitational: Scheffler, the No. 1-ranked player in the world and the odds-on favorite, fails to finish on top of the leaderboard this week. Scheffler had a historic season in 2024, racking up seven wins and 16 top-10 finishes.
Now that the 2025 tournament field is locked in, SportsLine simulated the tournament 10,000 times, and the results were surprising. Head to SportsLine now to see the projected leaderboard.
Another surprise: Shane Lowry, a 40-1 longshot, makes a strong run at the title. He has a much better chance to win it all than his odds imply, so he’s a target for anyone looking for a huge payday.
However, Scheffler is off to a bit of a slow start to those lofty standards in 2025, finishing T-9 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and T-25 at the WM Phoenix Open. He’s struggled with accuracy off the tee this season, ranking 82nd in driving accuracy (58.93%) and 91st in total driving efficiency (182). Scheffler also ranks 163rd in strokes gained: around the green (-0.456), which doesn’t bode well against such a strong field. He’s not a strong pick to win it all and there are far better values in the 2025 tournament field. See who else to fade here.
Genesis Invitational 2025 picks
The model is also targeting three other golfers with odds of 40-1 or longer who will make a strong run at the title. Anyone who backs these longshots could hit it big. You can only see the model’s picks here.
Lowry secured a runner-up finish at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am earlier this month and is currently ranked second on the PGA Tour in putting average (1.603) and one-putt percentage (50.00%). He also ranks fourth in strokes gained: total (2.220), 15th in strokes gained: off the tee (0.647) and 27th in strokes gained: approach to green (0.751). Those impressive stats, plus his long odds, make him a strong value pick for your 2025 Genesis bets. See who else to pick here.
